Meet Jess Herscott, DPT
Jess Herscott is a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in recurring pain, acute injuries and whole-body dysfunction that affects a person’s ability to participate in the activities they love. Jess has advanced certifications in the diagnosis and treatment of low back and neck pain, soft tissue/myofascial restrictions, golf-related injuries and vestibular dysfunction.
Jess is originally from New Hampshire, where she grew up as a three sport athlete as well as an avid hiker and skier. Jess remains an outdoor enthusiast spending as much time as she can in the mountains, backcountry and alpine skiing, climbing, and hiking. As an avid golfer and tennis player, Jess has a strong appreciation for the importance of physical wellness to ensure pain or injury doesn’t sideline you from the activities that make you the most happy.
Jess founded Maine Ascent Physical Therapy & Wellness because she believes that care needs to be individualized and focused on achieving sustainable results. With a strong emphasis on accurate and comprehensive diagnosis, Jess looks at the whole person and provides one-on-one tailored care to more effectively and efficiently resolve people’s pain. Jess believes that in order to sustainably participate in the activities we each love, there is no start and end to physical wellness—it is a long-term journey that she wants to be your ally in.
Meet Kristin DeRousse, DPT
Kristin has been practicing for over a decade. She has spent most of her career advancing her skills in orthopedic related injuries. She takes a full body approach to pain, finding the root cause to allow for long term results. She holds advanced certification in Dry Needling techniques to address myofascial trigger points, tendon and nerve dysfunction, and pain modulation. Additionally is certified in vestibular dysfunction and systematic full body movement screening. Her extensive continuing education is focused on soft tissue/myofascial release techniques, joint mobilization, an array of manual therapies, and spine related pain and dysfunction. Kristin values an individualized program that takes into account lifestyle, learning style, and personal goals to keep you moving and doing what you love.
Kristin is a New England native and has set roots in New Hampshire with her husband and two kids. Outside of the clinic she loves to spend time with her family and friends, stay active and enjoy the outdoors. She understands the busyness of life and is passionate about finding solutions to keep your body healthy and happy long term.
